Too in your head to be voices, too loud to be normal thoughts? MAybe i'm talking about different  things here... Do you know what I'm saying if I say thoughts that won't stop talking? Not always a bad thing, but I'm very unresponsive to outside stimulation when I'm like this. It's llike all this information just goes into your mind like BAAM BAM usually accompanied by visuals in the brain (not usually literally visual) just being  supper "absorbed" idk is that the right word? sometimes its random "voices", "loud thoughts" NOT auditory. saying something just plain random.ex "Jerome, I kow you aint been at the grocery store!" or. .. "that's why old ladies don't buy eachhothers facewash" etc... maybe I'm all over the place here maybe I'm looking for some direction. ALso idk I this is EVEN RELATED but hearing the wrong the wrong words out of people's mouths. Like, they say "something" nd I hear "what a fuckin bitch" or I hear "that  was in ur head" and I say "wtf did u just say?!" and they sa y "something"..................... one more thing is that I SOMETIMES INVOLUNTARILY repeat the same phrase over n over(in my head or outloud) . why. if u have ny insight into one or more of these things I woud like to hear about it.. thnx for reading ttyl

Not sure if this is similar. I have multiple minds. Usually we just know what the other is thinking (we're connected) but when the evil minds pops in it's always constant bullying. They're not voices because it's my own minds. There are a lot of thoughts though even if I don't want to think them but the others like to think them. We're usually pretty absorbed in our head as well. For a while I did hear things people would say incorrectly. It was always a negative thing, people would mostly yell. It went away, I can't remember how. The consensus seems to be that they're a coping mechanism though.

PS: that old lady thought made me crack up.

iaawal, idk how to "reply" but sounds very familiar. I often have two completely opinion of things but they come at diferrent times.. YES NO YES NO ..maayyybbbee... YES! NO!at a time I would be fighting w/ what seemed like (myself?) like my brain was split in two (literally) right, red. left, blue. Both making good points, this was not in weird/foriegn voices, although the thinking was LOUD. R u saying ur multiple? @iaawal thx for reply !!

What you say sounds similar! Nope, they're not different personalities (so not dissociative identity disorder). They're not voices either, when they speak it's in my voice. They're just different minds that chill out in my brain. I guess they're different aspects of myself so when we talk we are talking to ourselves. We do sometimes argue, usually it's with the evil one. They are unique in their own way though. One typically doesn't speak out just communicates what she thinks the rational choice is because I tend to be emotional. Most of the time she controls our actions instead of saying or thinking (e.g. once I was crying a lot about my breakup and she stopped me so I would get my shit together). So good points are made all around. My brain isn't so much split in half because there are a few of them but they hang out in different parts of the brain.

Have you been able to talk about this with a tdoc/pdoc? They might help you understand this more.

My pdoc thinks they're likely a coping mechanism created to protect myself.

I agree with talking to a tdoc/pdoc about this.  It sounds very hard to deal with.

Are you on any meds?

Like thoughts that are put in your head that aren't your own? Is that what you mean? This happens to me with the random phrases thing loud in my head. But I know it's meant to confuse the crap outta me. I know the evil entities just want me all mixed up and unable to succeed. I'm horrible at telling stories because of the loud random thoughts inserted into my mind. I just go blank when I try to tell a story because then the correct thoughts are removed from my mind. Also I don't speak in order and go off into different subjects a lot. This is bothersome because most don't have the time of day for anyone, let alone someone who cannot tell a story at all or speak in a linear manner at times.

Me too.  I hate this because then I find myself always correcting their thoughts so other "people" don't get the wrong ideas about me or about whatever.

The same here.

I think they are called thoughts insertion, maybe?

I called them either that, or interjections in my thought process, where the interjections would be random ... it took my mind to other things, random things ... feeling like my mind was going a mile a minute, and never finishing one complete thought.

This is a long shot, but I figure I can't be the only one who has ever had this thought. Is there a way to induce a state that includes the productivity/happiness of mania - without all the extra bullshit? 😅
Mania is better than any drug, the euphoria is incomparable. Every time I skip a few days of sleep, feel an increase in energy, or anything that might be the beginning of an episode, I think - ''Please let this be the onset of the best feeling in the world. I can't do this shit anymore''. I feel so guilty admitting to that, because I know that being manic and being functional are generally not compatible. I also don't ever want to end up in hospital again, because that never fails to be a de-humanizing experience.
I have not had any symptoms of mania since my last hospital admission, three whole years ago. It was the first and only manic episode that I've ever had, and it lasted for about three months. I feel like I could have avoided hospital completely if I had experienced mania without the accompanying psychosis. If I could just achieve that level of elation without:
rapid speech word-salad delusional beliefs dangerously impulsive acts (e.g. jumping out of a car on the highway because the sky looked beautiful and I wanted a loser look) I look back on those ugly symptoms and I could never cope with them now. I go to college full-time, I work, and I have so much to lose if I lost the ability to communicate with others and behave safely. On the other hand - my life just feels so damn gray and stagnant; I miss feeling invincible.

      Hello!
I'm trying to figure out how to address my nervous tics lately. They've been persistent this past year and are always changing. From eye blinking, to head shaking, to sticking my elbow in my sides, squeaking, to a eye closed swallow things. I can't remember them all.
I don't always have them. If I've properly slept and aren't stressed/anxious they don't exist at all. As I'm typing this I keep needing to pick up my thumbs and bend them till I hear something crack.
I don't know where to put this though!
      Thanks!

This has become the central topic of my latest ruminations...I'm still in my 40's, but I'm worrying a lot about getting older. I'm having some random health issues (aches/pains, chronic fatigue etc) that I never had before.
I don't have any children and get triggered every time I see photos of other people's kids (literally everyone I know my age has kids now). I know that it's not a given that all families are happy or one's kids will take care of you in old age, but it's just the thought of having a family around! My parents are approaching late 70's and they live very far away, cannot travel. I have no other close family (or even close friends) that I can really depend on.
Anyone know how to remedy these anxious thoughts? One of my biggest fears is being alone in old age, with increased health issues, and being totally isolated/alone in despair. I'd rather die young.

Hi, all. I feel like a newb oldie: been on here a while, still feel dumb as shit with all the o chem breakdowns and acronyms.
Anyway- I've been maxed out on effexor xr for years now. I've taken it pretty consistently for...12 years? with a few breaks to try something new. There aren't many details I can remember well (always had a bad memory, now it's basically a vestigial feature), but here's what I've garnered:
*SSRIs and i seem to not mix. Not just some side effects, but all the side effects, and no or negative improvement.
*wellbutrin did nothing for me. Not good, not bad- just nothing.
*Effexor was good- great, even- before I tapped out. I've just been staying with it till I can figure something out.
*currently, I take 225 mg Effexor (and several doctors have told me now that they flat out won't go above that), 150 lamictal, and klonopin and Ambien as needed. (And as I've been mightily depressed lately...I've been "as needing" them a lot more.)

I've been wanting to change for a while now, and I've been studying up to see what might be some better options, but haven't had a tdoc or pdoc in the meantime. I'm meeting new ones shortly and I want to take some suggestions to them. Problem is that I'm allergic to a few things, with varying degrees of severity and type of allergic reactions. Any suggestions of SNRIs, TCAs, or MAOIs that aren't:
*sulfa-meds (full body hives. Like...full body- between my toes, in my buttcrack...😬)
      *compazine (difficult breathing, light anaphylaxis.)
      *darvocet, Vicodin (full-blown anaphylaxis.)

I have been given morphine with no reaction (so, what- does this mean that synethics cause issues, but cleaner natural versions don't?), and take imitrex regularly. I'm not smart enough to understand all of the individual components, and too ADD to have the patience to learn which causes what.
I feel like it's got be something pretty potent, since I've been middling- to severely-depressed pretty constantly (easily 8 out those 12 years), but I also don't need anything that's going to make me lethargic. Apathetic, fine- just please, no serious drowsiness.
I defer to you guys and gals and pals for what your thoughts are on what might be most effective, but also won't send me to the ER.
