Cinnamon
Hey, there. So, my psychiatrist wants to put me on Vraylar and my biggest concern - I have an eating disorder - is the possibility of weight gain. I know it's a new drug so there's probably not much info... but for those who are on it... did you gain weight and, if so, was it metabolic slowdown or did it make you eat more? browri
Most of what I've read of other people's experiences indicate that Vraylar is either weight neutral or can actually cause weight loss. Never tried it myself though. I'm on loxapine right now which is an older antipsychotic which can also cause weight loss.
melissaw72
Just wanted to follow this thread because if my pdoc gets around to it like he said he wanted to months ago, he might prescribe it. I'm interested about anything anyone has to say about Vraylar. Edited November 13, 2016 by melissaw72
mikl_pls
No weight gain from Vraylar here. Nor does it make me eat more. Edited November 22, 2016 by mikrw33
Amethyst674
Vraylar has made my weight loss come to a screeching halt. My weight has plateaued at 190 and I cannot lose a pound. I recall trying abilify and it did help me lose 12 pounds . Unfortunately it made me manic so I had to stop it. Good luck to all. Vraylar does help my mixed episodes . I have been on it since around September 2016. I now find myself in a bit of a blah. So unure as to what that is about.
