maybeimaunicorn
Hi! I don't like to define myself with my diagnosis (as I doubt anyone does), but I was diagnosed with depression and social anxiety disorder when I was 15. I am lucky in the sense that I don't suffer from either disorder as much as others have. I have a good job and a strong support group, which I believe both help me tremendously. However, both disorders still affect my life daily, despite a combination of medication and therapy. I've been struggling with my depression within the past few months. I started graduate school on top of working full-time, and the stress is getting to me. My therapist says she is proud of how I am doing, yet I still feel sad and empty most days (she is aware of this). I'm hoping to join this forum to meet other like-minded people and to know that I'm not alone. <
jt07
Hello Maybeimaunicorn! Welcome to CB! You are definitely not alone. I share your diagnosis, and I too don't like and don't think that our diagnoses define us. I think you will find that we can be a fun bunch of crazies (Ha, I do like defining myself in the comical sense of crazy and it covers the difficult times as well.) Anyway, once again welcome aboard! Gearhead
Welcome, Arya-oh, I beg your pardon. Welcome, maybeimaunicorn! Regardless of how good your IRL support group is, there are always things that you can only really talk about with people who have been there themselves. That's where we come in. Please feel free to PM me or one of the other mods if you need help navigating the site.
