Provigil side effects?

Recommended Posts

For those taking provigil, just wondering if side effects tend to wear off? I'm taking 100 mg for the last several days, haven't noticed any increase in energy except today, but maybe that was a fluke cause it was before I even took my pill.

but I AM getting a weird restless anxiety, possibly even mild akathesia or something.  I just feel weird, so hard to describe... I get anxiety sometimes but it's more like overwhelming stress, whereas this is closer to panic.

i DO seem to be less depressed, but this anxiety isn't a good trade off... could this wear off?

I didn't have any side effects from provigil.  The increase in energy was when I hit 600 mg/day.

Idk,  you said you have been on it for the last several days ... it sucks to have side effects, but if you can't tolerate them, maybe bring them up with your pdoc, and they might have an idea of what to do, possible a med-tweak, or maybe you are on too much at first, and need to wean up slower than you are?

It is possible that the anxiety side effect could wear off, but it is hard to tell.  It is one of those things that you don't know until you continue to take the med, and find out that way.

I thought of one more thing... does anyone take provigil/nuvigil at night? Seems a little weird but I'm wondering...  yesterday I felt like shit all day after take my it, then about 7 or so it wore off I think and I felt pretty good! Last night I only got about three hours sleep but oddly I woke up feeling fine, even had some energy. Does anyone else take it at night? I suppose I can test the theory... just wondering why it might have that effect... not sure why I care; I think I'm convinced I have some kind of alien biochemistry because NO medications work or if they do, I get the opposite effect. Ugh!!

No, I don't take it at night ... I take it right when I wake up, then the second dose about 4 hours later.  I will say that when I take the first dose, I need to fall back to sleep because it doesn't work right away.  It takes a 2-3 hours for my body to realize I have taken it.  If I had to stay up after my first dose, I'd be dragging too.  Maybe you could take it at a time in the morning when you can fall back to sleep for a couple of hours afterwards to see if that makes a difference?
