aura
If I take more than 600mg of seroquel, I start having visual hallucinations. Anyone else get this paradoxical side effect?
saintalto
I'm on 6-800 a day depending on PRN and it really reduces those sorts of symptoms for me. It does not fully keep them at bay, though, and that's just the treatment resistant element for me, not the seroquel. You can't really be sure this is an absolute until you have the doc confirming it. My guess is that you have hallucinations that aren't quite fully controlled by the seroquel and if it were to be stopped, they would get worse, not better. aura
@saintalto I hear you, and it's possible... but today is my first day on reduced Seroquel and I haven't been hallucinating. Well... a little bit, but nothing like yesterday. I think it really might have a paradoxical effect on me. ETA: I take it back. Had a really creepy hallucination just now. Why can't I just be left alone? Edited December 15, 2016 by aura

Why can't I just be left alone? Sorry, replying late on this. Creepy hallucinations are the worst. Keep trying to remember it's a disorder and none of it is real. Over and over. :/
paintedsky
I totally believe you. I couldn't take seroquel. I had awful scary visuals from the stuff. Images that were vivid and 'creepy' as you describe. Saintalto has very good advice to remember it's not real.
