Sensation
Hmm I am 37 and can't keep a job or always have problems. It is humiliating and I am tired of the cycle. If you dont work in this world you might as well check out right? I dont live with nobody so falling back on another income is out of the question. *sigh*
Libby
Yep, I have similar issues. I'm thinking of going through the state rehabilitation commission for people with disabilities. Depending on your diagnosis, you can get help with job training AND with keeping a job. I would think that everystate has such an agency. Do you know if yours does? I can't answer your questions, but apparently, they're open on Sundays. Just call 'em and find out. Or not.
revlow
Listen, I've never been any good at this myself. I've lost 4 jobs in the past 3 years. So, I'm not anyone to be giving advice. But some thoughts... I'd assume you've talked with your psychiatrist and therapist about your current concerns with your job, your fears of losing it. What have they said? Have they come up with any strategies for dealing with the particular situations that cause you problems at work? How to cope with the work-related stresses? If you could come up with a short list of strategies, something to look at and remember when you feel yourself getting stressed at work, this might help. And if you haven't been talking to your psychiatrist and therapist about this, by all means do! You need to discuss this with a trusted counselor. Loon-A-TiK
Everything makes me suicidal. I get it in manias too. Very dangerous swings... ...I think for your condition, those feelings are "normal". I'm happy you're looking into options. But remember, sometimes we need time away to heal and get our shit together, and start fresh (that's why I'm grounded from work and going for disability). Keep SSD/SSI in mind. If you need a break from the horrible tangle of work, it isn't your fault. The work place sucks ass. --------loon----------
