Eilatan
Hi there I've got excruciating akathisia and will be speaking to my psych about it as it's making my already bad insomnia worse. I note that many of uou have eliminated akathisia with congentin but it's not available in the uk!!! Anyone have any other suggestions for an alternative which is ?? Many thanks X
tryp
Trihexyphenidyl is the other medication in that class that gets used. Maybe you have that one? There isn't amazing evidence for anticholinergics and akathisia though. People also try propranolol and benzodiazepines.
Eilatan
Thanks tryp I'll have to ask about that one. It's driving me mad (er)!! I already have diazepam for anxiety and zopiclone for sleep and yes they give immediate but not very long last relief. Plus they are not supposed to be a long term solution according to my doc. So that's propandolol and tryhexyphenidyl. Ok I'll go research. Thanks so much for your help. Eilatan x
