My Political Beliefs, Just A Non-Partisan Statement That's What Our Founding Fathers Stand For

Recommended Posts

Sadly, people seem to elect some of the stupidest and greediest people within the possibly doomed human race.  We elect either two groups of people, spineless bureaucrats that just do nothing and keep things exactly the same as they have been for decades...... or morons who go after people who exhibit behaviors that are "un-American" in a way that's no different than the way a group of zoo monkeys would throw poop at someone for wandering into their cage.

Why exactly doesn't the country come together and elect someone that actually knows what they are doing?..... that's what the purpose of democracy is?!?!?  The founding fathers wanted us to vote for someone who knew what they are doing. Also, I don't really believe that Democracy was intended to be a two party system, it was intended to be a system where the people of the United States of America that I'm proud to be a part of vote for the most qualified candidate.

I also feel that EVERY citizen should vote in every election, and there are few if any excuses not to vote.  So, this isn't a political speech so much as it is a statement that in 2020 and 2018...... I think everyone should get out and pick whoever they feel is qualified.

Really, really think about the individual candidate and vote for who you genuinely support in your heart not just thinking about who your family and/or friends support.  Voting by nature is anonymous, so vote for the candidate that you genuinely believe in.

Hi!
I just wanted to let you know that, due to crazy, meds, or a combination, a fair few folks here struggle with screeds that lack paragraph breaks. Would it be possible for you to edit this into something that was less like a block of text, and more like something with spaces? You'll be more likely to get responses if people could read what you have to say.

For this past election, there were only 2 choices in the end ... one dem/one repub ... who were chosen by voters themselves.

The voters did vote, and chose these 2 people to run for POTUS.

How else could it have worked differently?

The bottom line is, we can't force people to vote if they choose not to.......I also think it's important to vote, but it's not a requirement here in the U.S.

In fact, only about 55% of voting age U.S. citizens turned out for the 2016 Presidential Election, and this is a 20 year low  in voter turnout:

 http://www.brownpoliticalreview.org/2017/03/american-voter-turnout-overlooked-crisis-democracy/

Why did so many people not vote in November 2016?.....The articles explain more in detail....Here's another viewpoint about how low voter turnout affected the November 2016 election:

We'll never get mandatory voting in the USA, because it disadvantages the GOP. It's the same reason we can't rid ourselves of the electoral college. People don't vote for a variety of reasons. Many don't care about anything but the presidential election. So they won't vote in the midterms, and they often see no reason to vote even in presidential elections if they live in a solidly blue or red state, because they don't feel that their vote matters. And they're not mistaken, really. If you don't live in Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and a few other states, your vote for president really doesn't matter.

From what I've seen, since I started voting in the early 80's, is that higher voter turnout, in general, favors a democratic win, and lower voter turnout, again in general, usually favors a republican win.

Just my 2 cents.

I live in a swing state, so I know my vote matters a lot.........That's why I'm diligent in getting to the voting booth, even if someone has to drive me there.

I relented on the Obama thing but cuckservative is not a racial slur, it comes from the word cuckold, which is basically someone who allows their wife to cheat on them, cukservatives allow the interests of their nation and people to be sold out for the sake of others. Pence wants to sell us out so he can have his new dickwaving contest with Russia over Ukraine and Syria, he also wants to sell us out for big business, that's what makes him a cuckservative

If it is, I sincerely doubt more than a few know about it. Just looking at the word, it appears to be an amalgam of cuckoo and conservative. And given the current political climate in the US, it's not inaccurate to conflate the two terms. I suppose it is a pejorative against the mentally ill, but it's not like this site doesn't encourage it. The URL of this place should be enough to disabuse anyone of that notion. OK, it paints conservatives in a poor light too, but it's not like they don't deserve it.

Wrong, flash. It's derived from "cuckold" - which in this context means a black man "cuckolding" a white man by having sex with his presumed white wife. Which is well-known in MRA and alt-right circles, with which this screed is clearly a part. For example.

Cuckold doesn't specifically involve black men, any man of any race can cuck another man, have a look at the oxford dictionary definition.

Not really, I've been on /pol/ since 2012 and it's been used as a catch-all insult since 2014 before the alt-right was a thing. Also, when I was a member of the eunuch archive, there were unironic cucks there who used the term without it having anything to do with blacks.

Slate's a pretty biased source tbh fam, MRAs and unironic racists are a fringe even among the alt-right, it's mostly made up of civic nationalists including many blacks, hardcore liberal news sources like to blow up out of proportion the fringe elements.

Sorry, but I have to disagree, Rosie. It doesn't matter diddly-squat what the origin/meaning is if virtually nobody recognizes it as such. It is certainly no dog whistle. I had an extraordinary education, and I have never come across this term before. The most logical explanation is that it is a combination of cuckoo and conservative, and that is how almost everyone will take it. I stand by my previous post.

Like I said your links seem pretty biased, Slate openly describes itself as liberal/progressive while that wehuntedmammoths site seems outright racist against whites and completely misconstrues Trump supporters as white racists when in reality Trump has supporters from all races and the reason for his support has many reasons independent of race, the main reason being the proletariat are fed up with the globalist economic and foreign policy decisions that are destroying them.

Cuck comes from Chan culture, which can be at times ironically racist, but is not exclusively racist and even leftist channers use the term cuck, such as in the context of classcucks

It's not cockoo. It's cuckhold. Regardless of whether or not you see it as dog-whistling or not, that's where it comes from. As per my links.

It's not cuckholdservative, but cuckservative that we are talking about. Those are two entirely different things. If it was the former, your argument would be rock solid. But it's the latter. And It's the same damn thing as when people use the word libtards. It's a combination of liberal and retards, obviously. You wouldn't assume it's a combination of liberal and leotards, would you? Of course not! And even if leotards was a racial slur, you would never jump to the conclusion that libtards was a racial slur. It's very clearly a slur against liberals by comparing them to the mentally compromised (i.e., liberals are stupid). I do understand your point, and I'm currently on the phone with someone who happens to agree with your point of view, but I wholeheartedly disagree with you both. If you survey 10,000 Americans and ask them what cuckservative means, virtually every single damn one of them will agree with the simple assessment (cuckoo + conservative). The fact that a few nutters interpret it differently is ultimately irrelevant.

And that is my point. 99% of Americans don't even know WTF cuckhold means, for Christ's sake. You are using your intellect, but not your brain. In order to understand politics, you have to learn to think like the average Joe or Jane. All of your erudite knowledge can actually be a disadvantage sometimes. Also, you severely overestimate the intelligence of the American electorate. We didn't elect Trump because we're smart; we elected him because we're stupid.

As a Canadian, it may be incomprehensible to you, but I can guarantee you that we have SHITLOADS of DUMBFUCKS here. For every JT, there are a thousand people who think Obama was born in Kenya. This particular forum is full of very intelligent people. Much more so than you encounter, on average, in the real world. I think it can be easy to lose perspective here. We have tons more LGBTQ people here, too, for instance, so we're not exactly a microcosm of society at large (plus the crayzee thing, obviously). And we have plenty of moderators who will ban unruly people at a moment's notice, so we don't always see the uncensored view.

Compare that to a site with 7 million unique visitors every month, whose owner advocates the wholesale slaughter and/or deportation of all the liberals in this country. I've been banned from there, simply because I disagree with them. They do not allow dissenting views to post, even. And yet they claim to be for freedom. What a fucking joke! Hypocritical assholes!

And how on earth do you deport citizens, anyway? Where would you send them?  If you think I made this up, I most certainly have not. But Google delisted his fucking site recently, so you won't find it that way. He's a fucking nutjob who can't be reasoned with. And yet these are the kind of people we have to deal with here. They are the ones proudly waving their confederate flags, and then get upset when you label them as racists. He's a huge Trump supporter, and when you see the crap he spews, it's hard not to label them them all with the same broad brush.

I never knew just how bad the bigotry had a hold over this country until the election of Obama in 2008. I had the nicest, sweetest old lady tell me that, "Oh no, I could never vote for a black man." And then in 2016, you had the people who were fed up with politics as usual. Some of the most extremely liberal people I know were part of the "Bernie or bust" crowd and voted for Trump because they thought we needed a shake-up in politics, and they thought that Hillary Clinton could not fulfill that role. Perhaps so, but electing the next Hitler is not the way to go about it. Trump is no Hitler, of course. For God's sake, he has the charisma of a guppy, and that may be an overestimate. But he has channeled all of the things necessary to create a dictatorship: discredit the media, curry favor with the military, assemble strategic alliances, dismember the government, install key allies in power, etc., etc.

But many Americans already have buyer's remorse, and we will probably oust his ass. The chance of him getting reëlected is virtually zero. There will be a recession. He will be blamed for it. The promised coal jobs will never materialize (why would they when renewable sources are more cost-effective?) Wall Street's Fall will be all the more spectacular because of their expectations of a goosed-up economy. It would be historically unprecedented for us not to have a recession by mid-2019, if youre looking at business cycles. And if you look at unemployment data, early 2020 would be the peak. And it most likely will happen before then. The signs are out there for everyone to see.

Trump is toast, but how much damage will he cause before he's gone? Will I have health insurance? Will you? Will it cover your needs, or will you get some kind of almost-worthless walmart plan? Will we have more wars? Will they bankrupt the government just to put it out of its misery (unlikely, as England carried ENORMOUS debt for ages), will they poison our water, air, and food? Will the only people in this country who are happy be the rich? What will happen to you when you're 53 years old, your stock portfolio gets decimated, and your job gets outsourced to technology? Well, you'll probably work at Arby's, because they're a bigger business than the entire coal industry combined.

Sorry, but I have a tendency to babble on endlessly. I'm sorry if my post is not entirely coherent. And it was not my intention to disrespect you. I'm sorry if it came across that way. I simply don't agree with your assessment.

Wooooahhhhh. Chill, everybody.

For the record, I am perfectly aware of the term cuckold and have been since it came up in a college class. I was never aware of any racial undertones, but hey, a lot of higher ed whitewashes things and leaves out the race parts. I started searching for references, but I ran into a lot of porn (haha, learn something new every day), and I'm on my work computer, so I had to stop.

I would be opposed to the term whether it is a racial reference or not, as it IS a reference to old-timey thoughts about men's, basically, ownership over women.

You make the assumption that people make the connection. They don't, because the the most obvious interpretation is the one I already presented. As part of the intelligentsia, you pick up on nuances that the average person doesn't understand. The fact that some fringe whackadoodles make the same connection is largely irrelevant in my opinion.

That said, I do agree with both you and Rosie that we shouldn't use that term here. It's certainly a pejorative any way you look at it. I know I'm prone to outbursts that aren't exactly in the best spirit of this site, and for that I apologize. When you don't sleep, drink like a fish, your mood goes haywire, and hallucinations are attacking you, it can be hard to keep your shit together. I know others here have similar problems and manage to not be as big of a jackass as I am. I will try harder in the future.

I have my own personal reasons that should make me avoid using the term cuck, but I'm far too steeped in chan culture to resist using chan words and memes

FWIW, cuckold and cuckoo have a common etymology as cuckoos lay their eggs in the nests of other species.  The term is drenched in misogyny and toxic masculinity but I don't really see the racial element.  That idea was that men could have sex with whoever the hell they wanted but if a man has sex with another man's wife, they wife has done something horrible to her husband but the guy is guiltless.

My gf also believes that people should stop voting for someone just because they're in "their party" and instead vote for the person that holds their same values the most, that they think would be the best leader. I agree we shouldn't be just 2 parties... we're not really, but really, we are. If that makes sense. And have been for a very, very long time. I think you have to change the minds of the people first though, and not just the people that we put up on the pedestals to vote for. Change starts within the hearts of the people.
