Amethyst
Well I haven't posted on this board before so allow me to briefly introduce you to my OCD. My OCD takes the form of an intrusive thought about burning the house down or fire in general and my compulsion is a little mantra I developed to negate any thoughts of fire I may have *saying it to myself as I type* I also have to have things in a certain order and don't know why. People have to stand or sit in certain spots. I am also an obsessive compulsive hoarder. I literally had boxes and piles of shit stacked to the ceiling and have stuff at both my parents' houses. I was also wondering if my other intrusive thoughts were part of it. I don't have a compulsion to deal with it but I have intrusive thoughts about killing people. I just randomly think about shooting a person on the bus for example. These seem to come at a time when I am more prone to psychosis. Is it part of that or my OCD? Thanks, Ameth
Rabbit37
Well I haven't posted on this board before so allow me to briefly introduce you to my OCD. I'm just now beginning to crawl out of an OCD fog, so I can't give any words of wisdom. But I know how you feel, I think. I've had weird obsessive disturbing thoughts ... the disturbing ones are briefer, but the more surrealistic ones seem to go on forever. I lose track of time, and have sometimes gone without eating meals due to being lost in obsession. My artwork shows a heavy streak of it as well. No massive compulsions in adulthood (lots in childhood), other than wanting to line strange things up. Like tdoc's lamp and penholder. It's really bothering me. Amethyst
Thanks for the post. Nice to meet you. I have similar issues with lost time, but it has been dx'd as dissociative disorder. I always line things up too. I am always straigthening the magazines when I wait for my appointment ha. Ameth
