Wellbutrin not kicking in yet?

I know A/Ds usually take several weeks to kick in, but I thought Wellbutrin was one of the quicker ones? Some ppl mentioned 3-4 days. I'm very impatient because this is my 2nd trial, and after 7 days (just went up to 300mg) I feel nothing (except extreme dry mouth, problems swallowing)

I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that this stuff (if it does indeed work) will at least show some benefit within the next week? I hope.

What kind are you taking ... IR, XL, SR?

I take IR and it took effect within a few days after starting it.  I was on 100 mg, 3x/day. (now am on 100 mg, 2x/day).

SR took me a MUCH longer time to take effect, and didn't last me the whole day.

It took 4 weeks almost to the day to kick in for me. There was a bit of a "honeymoon" period after a week or so, but that was short lived and the titration was rocky. But it kicked in stably right at the 4 week mark.

300 mg is the official standard dose, once you are there it can take a few weeks to kick in. Sometimes quicker.

I'm taking IR at the moment 150mg, just started 300mg (split 8am & 3pm) I hope I don't get the "crash" irritability thing. Other than the dry mouth, my sleep is somewhat disturbed which is annoying but typical start-up symptoms. Maybe I'm not up to the correct dosage.

I'm on the Teva XL which I find equivalent to Wellbutrin XL or Aplenzin or Forfivo. Too bad there is no generic 450 XL.

I never crashed or was irritable on it.

My sleep was disturbed also in the beginning, which was why my pdoc lowered the dose.

OK..Is there a reason you take the IR and not the XL where dosing is once per day?

I was on the SR.  I take the IR instead of the SR because the SR hardly worked.  Didn't feel much different on it (vs off of it), and what I felt wore off before the end of the day.

IR has great results for me.  I can actually feel a difference when I take the IR.

IR can't be dosed very high as one dose due to seizure warning. XL spreads the dosage across 24 hours allowing 300 or 450 to be taken at one time.

FWIW ...

I was on 300 mg/day IR (spread out) without problems with the exception for feeling like I had more energy, and that it was messing up my sleep. 

I was on 300 mg/day of SR (1 pill/day) and it did not do anything for me ... I felt like I wasn't on anything with the SR.
