BrianOCD
Whenever I drink nowadays I don't get the same good feelings from alcohol. So I rarely drink at all, basically once a month tops, in a social setting. When I drink now I typically just get numb and sleepy. I'd have to say it gives me more of a dysphoric mood than anything the rest of the night. I guess it's not a bad thing to give up alcohol, although it was one of life's little pleasures.... I was just wondering if alcohol mixes the same for other people?
Gearhead
One of the problems with drinking and taking psych meds is that alcohol acts a) as a depressant and b) on one's neurotransmitter systems, which in our cases are already screwy. So aside from the risk of sudden violent interactions between your meds and alcohol, such as may cause you to "die like a rock star," the long-term effects are not going to do you any good, either.
