I have been taking it for about 15 years. About 3 yrs ago I started getting really bad dry mouth. I spoke to another person who said he got dry mouth from Seroquel also.

pdoc said it was either the Seroquel or the trazadone. I have been tapering off the trazadone with no relief.

has anyone else experienced that?

Yes! I get bad dry mouth and I am pretty sure Seroquel is the culprit. I've been taking it for around 10 years and I believe that's when this started although I'm not entirely sure as I was also on Abilify at the time.

I drink lots of water to try to counteract this side effect with mixed results. And I guess I'm "lucky" I have to wear a cpap machine that has a humidifier in it so that helps with overnight dry mouth. But during the day it can get bad too.

They also make a certain brand of mouthwash, moisturizing spray, toothpaste, etc called Biotene. It is supposed to work really well. I don't know how expensive it is but it might be worth checking out. It's specifically made for people with dry mouth.

Some of Biotine's effects will not be felt but are of major concern, like remineralization of your teeth. Without saliva to bathe the teeth in minerals you get cavities and with good mineralization small cavities can be filled in so you don't have to go to the dentist to fill cavities. Drinking water does not help this. Biotine makes up for the loss of minerals due to dry mouth. This is the main reason I use Biotine mouthwash, to restore minerals lost to dry mouth. The toothpaste helps with this, also. The major damage done to teeth due to dry mouth is this, mineralization, so my dentist tells me.

I agree that the mouthwash and toothpaste did not help for very long with dryness. What did work for me was the spray. My dry mouth comes on suddenly and I am screwed if I can't get a drink of something. This is where the spray is great. It fits in my pocket and a few sprays in my mouth and it is no longer dry and stays that way for a good while.

Saw my pdoc today. He is having me try Salogen. The cheapest place I could find was at Costco for $120/mo. Too rich for me! But pdoc said I will know if it works after 1  week so I am only getting a 2 week supply to in case it doesn't work.

I get this all the time too. As others said, drink a lot of water. Not an ideal fix but it works.

The thing to really worry about is that dry mouth affects your teeth. A few years ago I went back and forth to the dentists getting more and more fillings and he kept telling me I was eating too much sugar.
In hindsight I can't see how that would be true, and it's only recently I found out that dry mouth can cause tooth decay.
