crazyguy82
Hi ? I've just started taking Lithium, taken 2 doses started Friday night. I've been feeling ok just a little sick, little dizzy and mildly sleepy. I went to the gym as normal today and during my workout I suddenly felt awful almost as if I was going to pass out, kinda freaked me out. I had a long shower, a hot drink and something to eat and it's passed now back to feeling ok. Does anyone know if that's normal? I'm taking Seroquel, Moclobermide and Ativan as well. Manny Thanks ? phidippus
I've had moments like that on many medications, lithium included. Chalk it up to side effects.
crtclms
You can overheat more easily on Lithium. Make sure you have water with you. Remember this on hot sunny days, I always, always where a hat.
Gearhead
You might want to lay off exercising, or ease up, until the initial sick-feeling has passed. Crt is right. You need to keep hydrated. And you will overheat more easily. If you exercise indoors, try to stay near the a/c vents where it’s cooler. It also helps to keep a bandana tied around your head and to soak it down with water occasionally. Dumping water down the back of your neck is useful as well. It might also be worth easing back on your normal workout until you figure out how to thermoregulate. And you should talk to your doctor.

Rabbit37
Keeping hydrated, definitely. I've found that chugging room temp (or tap cold) water is better than sipping iced water. I had a difficult time during the latest late-summer heat waves, I don't work out, but just staying busy I was sweating a lot. Water water water. Agree with the above, give yourself time to adjust before resuming normal workouts. Lithium is gold, give it a chance.
crtclms
Rabbit37, I'm just the opposite! I can't stand room temperature water, but I will happily drink liters and liters of cold water.
