StarCrazy
Is there anyway I could convince the admins of this board to make the spacing of posts far less wide. My issue is that I have a 24 inch monitor (which isn't huge at all) and reading a sentence from left to right in full takes up about 21 inches of that screen. Which is really not ideal for reading. Instead it would be great if the spacing had a maximum value. I'm not in web development or a graphic designer so I cant say exactly how it would look best. But reading sentences in this manner is nigh on impossible. Many users end up hitting enter every time they finish a sentence to make it more legible. But this can cause more problems. If you're viewing on a smaller screen everything is now even weirder. I would also request that this spacing issue is applied to the draft section when creating a new topic. I will post a screen shot to display what it actually looks like at the moment. It's just as tricky to read a post while it is being composed. And here's what the post looks like. For clarity: what I'm trying to say is - can you put a lower maximum value on the width of the text box where posts are available.

Velvet Elvis
Don't maximize the window. IPS uses responsive design so the text will expand or contract to fit any size from a huge screen to a mobile display. On most operating systems you can can drag a window all the way to the right or left and it will snap to only take up half the screen. https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-snap-assist/

But unfortunately here the text just gets bigger. The text boxes remain 19 inches or whatever long. 1 minute ago, Velvet Elvis said: Don't maximize the window. I'm aware I can do that. I can only speak as a user, but I'd much prefer a proper solution. I do realise web development isn't cheap and it might be seen as a 'nit pick'. As opposed to something not working as intended. Oh well. Glad I asked anyway.
Velvet Elvis
We buy the software we use off the rack and make minor modifications. It's way, way more complicated than anything I could do on my own. I have no idea how to even start doing what you ask without at the very least breaking the responsive aspect.
