sonicwhite
Ok while I saw the doc they said I have to come off the klonopin in order to get suboxone. So they prescribed cymbalta for the anxiety anxiety but I was on Effexor and it didn’t do jack. So anyone one have any success with Cymbalta? sonicwhite
First dose and I feel somewhat a mood lift. Don’t know if it’s just my hopes but I’m watching TV in my room for the first time since I’ve been here in Oklahoma.
mikl_pls
I personally love Cymbalta, but I have to be on the max dose for it to work, 120 mg.

How long have you been on the Cymbalta? I'm intrigued, because while I've experienced some mood relief, I've never felt "happy" or any kind of mood "lifting" effects from antidepressants. I have been on both Cymbalta and now, Effexor. I've found Effexor to be great for anxiety, and somewhat effective for depression. With Cymbalta, it is in the same category, and I think it had similar effect but it was 10 years ago so my memory is fuzzy.

I just started a cross-taper from Effexor to Cymbalta — only on 30mg right now and not sure what we'll stop at — but if it's anything like the Effexor I was taking, it did very little for my social anxiety. Why are they having you come off clonazepam to start suboxone? Fear of respiratory depression if you take both or do you have a history of benzo abuse as well? I'm p prescribed 0.5mg Klonopin PRN and I find it pretty helpful but I don't like taking it, both because it's a benzo and because when I've taken it in the past — I've liked it because I've felt normal and I'm not sure that's a slippery slope I wanna try to climb. sonicwhite
Yes one dose. I have been off of SSRI SNRI for six months. I took my dose and it really grabbed me out of my thinking. 30 mg and I feel just fine. If it’s working this good I will continue to do it. I have to come off of klonopin. It’s just time to. And yes respiratory depression is what they fear. Also so I have only had really one other antidepressant work and that was Zoloft.

Are you perchance taking the Suboxone for treatment-resistant depression? I'm just curious, don't mean to pry. I've been curious about this off-label indication. I asked my pdoc if she would try it with me while I was very suicidal at one point since it is purported to have antisuicidal effects within days to weeks, and all she said was "the research is controversial." sonicwhite
Well I’ve been on suboxone for almost five months. In the beginning it gave a nice mood lift but it has a ceiling affect so eventually I just stopped craving opiates. The cymbalta tho is definitely helping me.

Sonic, I'm so glad that you are on the Suboxone to stop craving opiates. So many people here where I live are dying due to opiate overdose. It's a very, very serious problem here.
sonicwhite
Thanks jt I’ve been doing so good when I moved out of my abusive relationship with my dad. I was getting sicker and sicker in TN. They will not help help you until you’re on your deathbed.
browri
@sonicwhite be wary that you aren't getting hypomanic. Cymbalta and Viibryd were two that caused hypomania for me before I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
