Since starting Abilify I've had some tingling sensations that come and go in both arms and hands, and brief numbness, like when a limb falls asleep. Was hoping it would go away, but it hasn't. I asked my pdoc about it and she said this is not a common side effect, but I know it definitely started with the Abilify. Should I be concerned about this? It's not painful, but it kind of freaks me out.

Funny you say,  Been on Abiify about a month, have the same thing happen  The explanation I made up for myself was that the tensed muscles in my shoulders had put pressure on a nerve and that's why my hands kept tingling.  But if it's happening to you too, hmmmmmm.  It started when I started the med too.  Hmmmmm.

I have had quite a few side effects with Abilify but it's working so well I won't give it up.  They are minor, not enough to make me stop taking it, but weird.  I have nausea, restlessness, jittery feeling, mild tremor, the thing you mention above, plus I keep getting the hiccups.  I'm hoping they get better with time.

I took the abilify to replace seroquel which made me fat, sleepy, and extremely constipated.  All things considered, I'll stick with the weird abilify effects.

Anyone have these side effects and had them get better?

I hope that at my next visit they can recommend something for anxiety, I was having a lot of anxiety before the Abilify too, but its the one thing that never seems to gets addressed for me.  The last pdoc gave me the impression that AAP's were my only option.  I have a new one doc, seeing Monday, we'll see if they have any ideas.  I'll keep gabepentin in the back of my head since it's helped you, I can at least ask about it.

I hope so too!   It's bad today.  I hope they don't try to take away my Abilify because I love what it's done for my depression, even if I am jittery all over the place.  I wonder what will happen if they titrate the dose up?  Will this get worse?  Or might it even out?  The thing that really gets me, besides the general anxiety, is the OCD.  That can get out of hand when I'm anxious or mixed and it's doing so.  Nothing has really helped it.  Bah.  Look on the bright side, at least I'm not depressed.  I'll take anxiety over depression any day.

Yeah, my anxiety crosses over into psychosis when it gets bad. Someone here told me that the Abilify can even out and become less activating at higher doses.

For the most part that's usually correct. Now the dose at which that happens is different from person to person. Some people start to calm down after 5mg but some don't until they hit 10mg.

@quietly bonkers. So on my pdoc's advice I started a sublingual vitamin B12 supplement this week and the tingling/numbness has almost completely gone away! Apparently it can be a vitamin deficiency and our meds can deplete vitamins. Thought I would share in case you are still dealing with this too. I may add other B vitamins, I am also taking vit D.
