Amethyst674
I am taking Effexor and Geodon together and I am afraid of the potential for QT prolongation. I do not have a hx of this or in my family. Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks
kittyloaf
Is the combination working well for you? Have you had an EKG lately to assess your risk for it? If it is working well then maybe your doctor can order an EKG periodically to make sure you're not developing it. Would that help you?
notloki
An EKG would end all this worrying.
looking for answers
its rare but like already has been stated, an EKG can solve all this
Amethyst674
Thanks. I ended up in the ER and I had 3 EKG plus a bunch of other studies and all is well. I ended up there due to a severe Panic Attack which of course I mistook for a heart attack. I am no longer on this combo though because it was giving me severe anxiety and panic attacks. I am now just on a low dose of wellbutrin and geodon. I am still very depressed.

notloki
Generally in the states they are pretty generous with EKG's among the little ones so long QT gets caught yearly. Edited March 10, 2018 by notloki
Amethyst674
I am still scared of this. I am now on zoloft with the Geodon. I am having daily panic attacks and i have been to the ER twice. I think at this point I am going to just do Geodon as monotherapy till I see my PDOC. The zoloft is not even helping.
