xRazorsEdgex
I used to take 800mg seroquel xr. It worked well but didn't like the weight gain. I am now on Abilify 15mg. Is this a comparable dose to the seroquel xr I was taking? Thanks.
Iceberg
Eh- exact "equalivent" doses are tough to work out...but 800 is a high dose and 15 is a medium dose. That really doesn't mean much tho since meds can be metabolized differently. Example I used to take 120 of latuda (high) then switched to clozaril and only need 200 (low). It's about what works
xRazorsEdgex
Just now, Iceberg said: Eh- exact "equalivent" doses are tough to work out...but 800 is a high dose and 15 is a medium dose. I just know the seroquel helped at 800mg back when I took it . I hope I can stay on abilify because I have no side effects. I've been taking it since February when I was last hospitalized due to mania. Prior to the hospital I was on rexulti from november to feb. which is similar to abilify but my insurance doesn't cover it so they switched me to abilify in the hospital. Iceberg
That might be better actually anyway because from personal experience and some posts on this site rexulti isn't so great for straight mania
notloki
Abilify is a med that you have to titrate up to reach a higher dose. 15 mg may he final dose, your doc my plan to raise it. The question is whay dose will help you and you will know it when you get to it. It is hard to impossible to name an equivalent dose between to dissimilar meds. Abilify is an agonist and Seroquel is an antagonist of dopamine. i
