notloki
So generally I take 1-2 Klonopins a day, taking the whole dose before I go to sleep. With a half life of 30-40 hours there is no need to take multiple doses a day. I've had a wealth of good fortune as all my meds work well and side effects are minimal. The problem is that I am on high doses or meds with a hard maximum (wellbutrin, abilify) so I can't go higher. Except Klonopin. If I go to my doc and say I am having problems he only has Klonopin to adjust. When I increase it for a short term problem I like to get back to the original dose. Everyone (my Internist, Neurologist, and Psychiatrist) agrees I am on enough pills, so adding something is not an option. Taking away a med would be foolish given how well this cocktail is doing. I was on 1 mg Klonopin prior to Trump coming into office. The day he came into power I went to 2 mg and have been there ever since. Now that things are calmer (I quit reading media about Trump) I want to get back to 1 mg. With such a long half life I did not taper down to 1 mg, I just started taking 1 mg instead of 2 mg 2 weeks ago. No problems, no indications of dependence. Sleep was normal, I sleep the night. If there would of been problems I simply would of gone back and titrated down to 1 mg. My doctor wants me on Klonopin so I will stay at 1 mg. The bottle of Klonopin says "Take 1-2 pills at bedtime" and I am free to adjust within those guidelines. My doc has taken me to 3-4 mg for short periods but the circumstances were out of the ordinary and exceptional.
Ethansmom
I take 2MG of Klonopin daily. Do you think it was your other meds then helped you to lower your dose of Klonopin? That's really what i want to do, but it's the ONLY think so far that is keeping my panic and anxiety in control.
notloki
No, I think it indicates I'm not very dependent to Klonopin.
