Personal Cooling Devices

Recommended Posts

When I was packing up for my move (I now live in Maryland - moving to Georgia tomorrow), I was sweating like none other and constantly felt like a brick just hit me in the head, along with severe burning pain on my back and legs.

Those personal cooling devices, the ones you see in catalogues from Brookstone, Sharper Image, SkyMall, etc.... does anybody here (esp. MS sufferers) know if they work?

I have a terrible problem with high heat (must be my Scandinavian blood), and have had to use a personal cooling system in the summer when it gets too hot and I have to be outdoors. I tried the small and cheaper ones first, but these were a waste of time and money. I ended up getting a cooling vest that cost about $325, but it was worth every cent. They will take some getting used to, but they really do the job. Here's something similar to what I use:

but they have other models too:

I am not recommending Cool Sport, as I haven't ever bought anything from them. I'm just using them for illustration purposes.

Good luck and stay cool this summer!
