kopo002
I've been on a lot psychiatric meds for about 14 years.. and this happened since about 2 months ago. Sometimes my fingers twitch so-to-speak every 30-60 seconds, and also sometimes it happens with my leg. anyone know if this is a serious problem? BipolarSpinster
Well, this is happening with my thumbs and sometimes just generally wringing my hands infrequently...pdoc says Tardive Diskonisia (totally wrong spelling probably). Edt: not saying that is what you have, but it seems possible. Edited June 13, 2018 by BipolarSpinster

Well, we can't diagnose, but it would be helpful to know what meds you are currently taking. Some meds cause twitches and some cause tremors that are in no way related to TD. I certainly would bring this up to my pdoc if I were you.

kopo002
Wellbutrin 300 xl Lithium 1200mg Latuda 80mg Buspar 60mg Luvox 300mg are all my meds I take.
Iceberg
Lithium is known to cause a tremor especially at higher blood levels. Latuda can cause one too ...and Luvox according to medscape so I wouldn't jump to TD. sometimes beta blockers can help if the tremor Is seriously interfering. Also I sometimes have the leg thing too...not sure what causes that but it's definetly not constant for me so idk
Gearhead
Lithium gave me tremors in my hands. I don’t remember jerking specifically, but it was a long time ago. You do need to talk to your doctor about this, and sooner would be better than later.

There are several different possibilities here, so I'll just go through all of them and some were already covered. The Latuda at 80mg is getting into EPS/TD land. I remember at around 60mg was when I started feeling restless. 80mg was worse. In some people that may manifest differently such as twitches. However, twitching as opposed to restlessness is usually a sign of dopamine stimulation not blockade. I'm looking now specifically at the domino chain reaction of Luvox, Buspar, and Wellbutrin. That dose of Luvox is definitely on the higher end. And that's also a pretty moderate dose of Buspar as well. I've heard from other people where Luvox and Buspar can both on their own cause bruxism (clenching/grinding of the teeth), which is typically indicative again of dopamine stimulation as this is also quite common for those taking amphetamine/methylphenidate stimulants. You aren't taking those, but in this case, you are combining Luvox+Buspar with Wellbutrin. The additive effect across serotonergic, noradrenergic, and dopaminergic systems could lead to excessive dopamine receptor stimulation which could lead to muscle twitching. With the Wellbutrin on board it could even cause a slight tremor similar to lithium and if you're taking both of them, the tremor may be even worse. Really, all of your medications are possibilities. The most likely culprit for tremor is lithium. For restlessness like bouncy legs or tapping of the fingers or for a random example repetitive piano playing motions of the fingers or weird stuff like that would most likely be Latuda but could potentially also be the stimulation from Luvox+Buspar+Wellbutrin.

Not likely that it's too late. You may just need some adjustments so try not to get too worried about it (I know, easier said than done).
