esmereldaskysurfer
Im going back IP tomorrow and i think they're going to start me on Clozaril because my "last resort" medication is no longer working like it should. My questions are: How bad is the drowsiness? Like are you a total mong all day, or is it something that can be overcome? Did you gain much weight on it? Iceberg
Go up really slow and that way you' wont overshoot the point where u get too drowsy. I haven't gained too much...much less than zyprexa but u still have to watch it. My advice would be don't worry too much about the dosing recommendations that recommend over 300mgs. Go as gradually as possible and do what works for you. There is a blood level u can use to monitor concentrations it's helped me from taking more than my body can handle

Iceberg
Together at the same time?? That's interesting...you must have tried basically everything else. For me cloz was way better than trilafon Is psychosis the main symptom?
esmereldaskysurfer
I have tried everything available.... Psychosis is the only symptom.

Then it's definetly worth a shot with clozaril. Has anyone talked to u/ever done ECT?
esmereldaskysurfer
No, there's not much evidence of it being effective for schizophrenia... i think about it sometimes for my depression, but effexor works well enough for me

My pdoc has sent people for it and I know the ECT specialist I have gone to uses it for psychotic symptoms as well. It might be worth talking to someone who does it just to get an opinion
