What dose of Latuda works for your paranoia?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what dose of Latuda finally took away your paranoia?

I'm on 60mg right now and it has calmed me down quite a bit, but I still feel paranoid.  I'm just worried about going up in dosage and getting bad EPS again.  I was put on Propranolol this time and it seems to calm my muscle movements in about an hour after I take it.  Just really worried it will crap out like cogentin did before I had to quit Latuda last time.

Propranolol is a three times a day med, due to half life. There is a once a day ER version.

Thanks, I didn't know that.  The Dr. at the hospital only wrote the script for two a day.  So I take it in the AM and one with my PM dose of Latuda.  Has anyone ever used the injectable version?  How often do you have to get a shot?  Is it more effective than the pill?

I take 120mgs..thankfully it's never really given me any side effects other than nausea when I first started it..

But I'm also on zyprexa

Latuda works to an extent but I need an extra boost I guess..

I had to take a small dose of Zyprexa as well for a few days last week.  My paranoia was through the roof.  It really leveled me out.  I haven't taken any this week and still feel good.  I will see how I do after an increase of Latuda at my next appointment.  I like to have Zyprexa prn but I just want to lose the weight I gained when I was on it full time.

That was the dose I was on the first time I tried Latuda.  I think my paranoia was in check at that time.  I wish I had known about Propranolol at that time because I probably would have been able to stay on Latuda.  It has completely taken away the EPS I get from Latuda.

Glad you don't have to deal with it.

Yea the weight gain isn't that ideal..I've managed to not gain too much thankfully..

I'm pretty strict about what I eat though..no junk food

I tend to have some pretty inactive days because of my paranoid thinking and trouble leaving the house..

I'm trying my best though to take my doggie for walks and I've joined a gym..

My pdoc has recently added topamax to the mix to help curb appetite and help with weight loss..it's helping..

I'm also doing the dog walks and riding my bike almost every night.  At least for about an hour a day I can ride and listen to music and clear my head of all intrusive thoughts.  I wish that high I get from cycling lasted longer.  It's good to exercise, especially for those dealing with MI...

I hope you can get to the gym regularly, I think after a while you will gain the confidence to go by yourself.  I know it's hard, sometimes I still get anxious before I leave to ride.  The drive to the bike path is the hardest part.  But it does get better over time...
