It's been along time since I had a genuine good mood for anymore than 30 minutes & I'm wondering am I Bipolar? I've been taking just AD's for a few years and they don't seem to do much anymore. Now my 'good mood' with or without drugs, same now as 30 years ago, is possibly closer to a week hypomania, ie, I'm a bit talkative & obnoxious & I am aware that I annoy the shit out of people, but I can't seem to tone it down.

I just tried Tegretol & all I got was side effects. My problem is I can't get much out of my GP to try & my PDoc was useless.

All input & suggestions welcome.  ;)

It sounds like the possibility of bipolar is worth discussing with your doctor.

You described me today.  I'm trying to keep my mouth shut here at work because I am the obnoxious class clown right now. ;)

Get a decent pdoc. Also keep mood records. Use www.moodtracker.com. It is a great tool to gauge your moods, sleep time, anxiety levels, and so forth. It can help you and your treatment team narrow down what is wrong with you and help with DX and RX choices.

You could be BP. As wifezilla pointed out, there are many flavors of BP and many kinds of meds. Keep the faith!
