Metformin Promotes Neurogenesis and Spatial Memory Formation

The Scientific Method requires replication of test results, one study alone does not mean anything until it is replicated by others using the same methods and the same results are received. Metformin (Glucophage), an old diabetes drug that most Diabetes II patients are familiar with, also seems to increase or improve adult neurogenesis and spatial memory formation. This means neurological cell growth and a special kind of memory. Depression affects both of these, or they may play a part in causing depression.
