What did I do?

Recommended Posts

This time, I met this guy and we seemed to hit it off. He really liked me. We had a drink at a local bar and I told him I was going home because I was tired, but I had to stop in at the club next door first to say hi to a friend. So this guy follows me in. I went in, gave my friend a hug and kiss, went over to my new "boyfriend" (or whatever he was) and said good night, and went home.

Now he won't return my calls. Is he jealous or something?  ;)

Tik,  don't you think it was a tad early after a couple of hours to be referring to him (even in your mind) as 'my new boyfriend or whatever?'

Heaven knows we don't see much of it these days, but back in the day, a gentleman would have felt 'ungentlemanly' for not escorting a lady someplace else after dark.

The problem becomes, just how far does gentlemanly responsibility go?'

Ideally, there would have been somebody else at the second bar to escort you home.  There wasn't.  So he extricated himself as gracefully as he could, and is now wondering why you don't understand the 'old culture' rules of gentlemanliness --  because he escorts you someplace after dark means nothing other than that he has manners.

...but if he had manners, he'd return my calls, which he doesn't. again, i don't know what i "did". the reason i was referring to him as my "boyfriend or whatever" is because we had been out a couple of times before and STUFF, and he is/was kind of BPD and declared his undying love. so i don't know what that made him/us, so i say "boyfriend or whatever".

but hey, for whatever reason, he's gone. oh well, as hawkeye has said, life goes on!
