Klonopin hangover?

Recommended Posts

Anyone take klonopin at night and find yourself still tired the next morning?  I’m thinking that it might be more that I couldn’t fall asleep and didn’t get quality sleep, but I think it could in theory be klonopin, so I wanted to check.

ill definitely keep taking it and see what happens.

Hi dances. Klonopin doesn’t help me sleep just helps calm the anxiety a bit. I do take it at bedtime currently (and also AM and afternoon) and mostly because I haven’t been sleeping with the vraylar.

Does the zyprexa help you sleep at all? I’m sorry you are still having sleep woes.

As of now, not much of anything helps with sleep.  I’m taking 2ish hours to fall asleep and I’ve ran through sleep meds like it’s my job. I went manic on a combination of Zyprexa and fanapt.  I got better sleep when we took away the fanapt about one month ago, but we started back on it when the AH and mania started up.  the AH are finally going away nearly identically times with fanapt, so we don’t want to go off of it, even if it might fix the sleep thing.  Similarly, the zyprexa is causing my resting heart rate to increase by about 20bpm, but we're not comfortable going off of it because of the likely connection.

once I get to sleep, I’m doing better and getting 8-9 hours, but that can’t continue when I start working.  I only get 8-9 hours by sleeping until 8.  The job will require me to be there no later than 8 and for the first week no later than 730.

The only thing I’m hoping is that it’ll be easier to fall asleep when my brain is getting  heavy workout every day.  Maybe?

the klonopin was chosen to help the parasomnias rather than for inducing sleep.  I was only having issues with sleep-talking, but my pdoc was worried about it getting worse since I've had a history of sleep-walking and sleep-cooking.  So we dropped the temazepam (likely cause) and added klonopin (one of the few drugs likely to help it apparently).

😞

I don't know if you have already tried this but:

I take my bedtime medication about 1-2 hours before bed,

for example, if I want to get to bed by 11pm, I take my meds at 9pm....by 11pm the meds have definitely kicked in and I can barely keep my eyes open.

I struggle to fall asleep if I take my bedtime meds and immediately try to sleep..

not sure if this helps, just wanted to share.

I take klonopin 2mg and trazodone 200mg at bedtime (they are my main sleep meds).

When I wake up in the morning, I usually feel pretty groggy, but thankfully coffee helps that.....I'm not sure whether it's the klonopin or Trazodone causing my morning grogginess though......I've been on both of these meds for sleep for quite awhile.

Butterfly, you might be on to something.  Last night I took meds at 830, got into bed at 930, and was asleep by 1000.  Normally it would have been taking meds and getting into beds at 930 and crashing around 1130.

hopefully this will continue.
