clinic
Basically my question is should i worry about prolactin elevation on amisulpride ? Is prolactin elevation on amisulpride equivalent to paliperidone/risperidone ? Also since it prolongs qtc interval, does anybody done any ECG test while they were on amisulpride ? Was the test result normal ?
MiaB
I can't answer as to whether it is equivalent to risperidone, as I have not taken that med. However, I was on solian many years ago and only very briefly because it caused lactation almost immediately. I have never experienced anything similar to that before or since - it was awful. However, I should add the usual "your mileage may vary". You may not necessarily repeat my experience.
mcjimjam
All I know is that at high doses it elevates prolactin. My pdoc was considering using it to augment my current AP at a low dose. She thought it wouldn't affect prolactin then.
notloki
Since you are not going to grow tits at once why not try it and keep an eye on your prolactin level via the blood test ? Guys don't want a high prolactin level for several reasons. Sexual dysfunction is one of them.
morpheus
Took this med for a month. Great med, but prolactin elevation was a problem, even in low doses.

I took amisulpride 50-100mg for a week, my prolactin shot up from 9 ng/ml to 54 ng/ml (2-17). 17 is the max normal level. I stopped it Edited July 11, 2019 by clinic

I stopped it That high a level would interfere with sperm and testosterone production in males. Prolactin acts on the testicules. Here in the US some docs give a low dose of Abilify, which lowers prolactin to patients taking AP's that cause hyperprolactinemia.

The problem is abilify makes me more psychotic otherwise i would have already started risperidone + abilify. I can take max risperidone 0.5mg that might increase prolactin very little bit.
