ncc1701
Heya DC, From the land of legal medical marijuana. (I'm being good here and not spouting off about non-regulated drugs. Which is what THC is. But I'm not.spouting.) Heehee, say yes to alcohol. Heehee, Pain Man looks like Nixon. Heehee, the war on terrorism. Thanks for the laughs. (And when Bush-lite sees *this,* he'll wreck the consitution for *sure.* You Canuckistanis know of which I speak.) --ncc--

Seldarin
Yeah, just don't tell these idiots opiates are in pain killers. Next thing you know it'll be nearly impossible to prescribe them in the US without the doctor and patient getting investigated and possibly (Read: Probably) arrested. Oh, wait. Nevermind. Too late. Sorry about your terminal illness. You have a week to live. Here's your ibuprofen. Wouldn't want you addicted!
Dire Curves
tis the same with our benzos... doc-"Well since it's so addictive i'm very hesitant to prescribe it to you" me-"won't i be taking this the rest of my life" doc-"most likely" me-"then what's your fucking point doc?" people (primarily the ones in "charge") need to realize that drugs/meds/supplements/food/drink/life in general can be addictive and abusive if misused. I find it quite ironic that, for the most part, any time something was made illegal was when it truly became an "epidemic" yet the govs of the world (except the Netherlands) keep making things worse for themselves either by lying to the public or using only the "BAD" information about the substance. Anyone else in agreement. ps: Please let there be a few who disagree, for this world would be quite boring if we all agreed on the same, right? Anyone else in agreement. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah. It's an "epidemic" after the media industry machines fall over themelves covering the latest vice for ratings. Then the more-virtuous-than-thou crew pipes up with the "there oughta be a law!" chant. After a few rounds of "We must SAVE the CHILDREN!", then the gubment steps in. By waiting for the Concerned Citizens to work themselves up, it's then politically feasible to raise taxes to support the "War on Whatever" or to divert social services funding to the latest Social Problem. That doesn't make things worse for the government, unless you actually think it *cares* about these things.
Seldarin
Nevermind that caffine, nicotine, alcohol, and shitloads of random food/drug/etc additives are highly addictive and easily just as toxic as most drugs and more toxic than a few. There's too much money to be made by those in power to bother with those at all. Hell, the air in most places is more toxic than weed. Where I live I'm gonna use papermills as an example. A constant output of hydrogen sulfide into the air isn't harmful at all...and just look what they do for the economy! Give 'em a tax break, we want another one! (As an amusing side note, hydrogen sulfide does funny things to aluminum. There's a subdivision near a paper mill here where the AC condensor coils rot into dust within 6 months of being put in. But it's not enough to be toxic to humans!) For fun and to make you happy I'll disagree! It doesn't have to become an epidemic. If it's fun and the lawmakers can't (illegaly usually) make a shitload of cash off it, you'll see it outlawed pretty quickly. Then they name it an epidemic after it's illegal. Dire Curves
Check out the Miron Report, it says that the government would make tons o cash if legalized/taxed etc. plus save money fighting an epidemic that is not really there!

Dire Curves
Hello out there. Anyone got any opinions on what Mexico is doing about the small quantity drug policy. Personally i think it's the right way to go. Why send the popo or feds after the little fish when it's the sharks that are causing the damage. Hell, 5 grams of weed being legal, that could last me a week. All of those politicos here (in US) are stupid in saying that that is the worst thing to do. Why put someone away for burning their braincells when the true danger is the people making billions distributing. just trying to get this going again. course, i don't agree about the heroin and hardcore stuff but then i don't like that shit. maybe smoking opium, but i hate needles, and have no use of anything like that, unless i was severely injured and it was the only way to rid of pain. even then you'd have to hold me down!
