Embarrassing question

Does pounding on your own head while you're berating yourself count as self-injury? Not Fight Club style,  or anything where it leaves a mark or a bruise or anything, but kind of beating on yourself with your fist.

I found this article on self-injury from WebMd.......It does say that "self-punching or self-scratching" can be a symptom.

What tends to trigger the "head-pounding" for you?.......Have you told your pdoc or therapist about it?

Thanks. Agitation triggers it. I don’t do it very often but it’s popped up lately. I’m adjusting to a new med which is stimulating (Vraylar), and I can’t figure out how much coffee to have with it, so my anxiety keeps skyrocketing, and today it escalated to full-on agitation. Also feeling some pressure about some things. Haven’t told pdoc. I’m in an IOP, and we are supposed to report self-injury before each session, so I’ll mention it tonight. I don’t know why I find this embarrassing.
