just wanted to say thank you for the heartfelt and friendly reception I'm receiving in response to the new diagnosis.  I think part of why it was hard was it was kind of dumped on me right at the end of the pdoc session.  So no processing time.  And then I had to wait five days to process. 

I've been told:

1) It's largely shorthand between professionals and that it's healthy to not see it as an identity

2) things have changed, but not drastically so--I'm still dealing with the same symptoms I was dealing with before the diagnosis change

3) it might mean different treatment, but that can be a good thing

4) it was an appropriate diagnosis change given how long the AH have persisted

 

So that helped.  I can't say I'm thrilled by it, but I at least understand it better.  I think I can at least say that I accept it, even if I don't like it.
