trailmix
Does anyone have any experience with Wellbutrin for smoking cessation? Good or bad? Side effects?
saintalto
My husband tried it in one of his many attempts to quit and said it did nothing for him. He's on it now for depression and it again did nothing for the smoking. Maybe you'd have a different experience though. The only thing that has gotten my husband off of cigarettes is vaping. It's not a perfect alternative, but it's a lot better than cigarettes.
Gearhead
The first time I tried it, which was about 2002, no one mentioned the smoking thing to me. So I didn’t make any connection to the sudden revolting horribleness of cigarettes. YMMV. I wasn’t a heavy smoker, just tended toward it when depressed. But boy, it was striking. It did nothing to me either in that field, I keep smoking, I'm on 300 mg, it is good for depression but here in Mexico are so expensive! Also tried it to substitute methylphenidate (Ritalin) and remplace it to bupropion with no success. Modafinil neither, I just can't function without ritalin and so scared to run out but well i'm going off-topic, maybe I should post this in other thread. Simba Cub
I don't trust Bupropion. I was prescribed it as Zyban, for smoking cessation, as it is not available for depression in the UK due to the risk of seizures. True to form, I experienced seizures - once on a plane and twice at home. I have no memory of them.
