Simba Cub
Is the following a psychotic symptom? I have for a long time been a very sick child, delusional, paranoid, hallucinating... I should be steady now. I've been on a reasonable dose of Clozapine and Trifluoperazine for a number of years now and until recently the symptoms had not reared their ugly head. Until yesterday. I was working the tills in a local shop. I had a queue of customers. Suddenly I froze. Completely. Unable to figure out what I was doing, where I was or why. I was halfway through a simple transaction and for about 5 minutes I just stood there, frozen, confused as hell. In the end, a colleague spotted I wasn't well and escorted me to the staff room where it took me about an hour to get over my episode. Even after that, I was pretty confused. I spent the following few hours staring at the ceiling daring the lights to pulsate or to throw out new shadows. Weird.

Probably only your doc can speak to that... that sounds like one of those things that could be Neuro or panic or a lot of things so you might need someone with a psych degree to help you sort out what was going on
Simba Cub
I guess on reflection it does sound more like an acute panic attack and not so much psychotic... I've emailed my pdoc.
Simba Cub
I've checked with my pdoc and it is his opinion that what I experienced was an acute psychotic episode; we can do nothing except hope it doesn't repeat.
aura
I've had this experience before. I hope it doesn't happen again for you. It must have been frightening.
