CeremonyNewOrder
No but self-diagnosing can be a big part of OCD. For instance, if I have just an itch or bump on my body I think I have a major disease and am going to die.

saintalto
When I was diagnosed with bipolar I used to think, well thank god I don’t have schizoaffective/schizophrenia... Then I was re-diagnosed with schizoaffective in 2013.

gabagaba
i used to have a fear of developing schizophrenia, and sometimes it arises again,no matter how hard i work in therapy. My late father suffered from it so that probably plays a huge part in it. My pdoc says it is actually a very common OCD fear and obsession.

I did develop psychosis but I have multiple immediate family members who have some form of it. In the unlikely event that you did develop psychosis, it wouldn't be the end of the world. You would find ways to treat and manage it just like with your OCD.
