Do you wear a face mask when/if you go out in public?............Since all my pdoc/therapist appts are by phone now, and someone else gets my groceries, the only time I go out is when my friend takes me to get my meds.....I could get all my non-controls just going through the drive-thru lanes, but they insist that I come in the store to fill my one controlled med, clonazepam.

In my state it is not required to wear a mask in public, but it is strongly recommended, so I decided to make a couple of masks for when I have to go in the pharmacy.....All the store personnel are wearing one, so I thought I would do my part.

I made 2 cloth no-sew masks from bandanas....It's pretty easy.....The CDC has a tutorial on how to do it, as well as a lot of tutorials on youtube....You should wash them after each use, too, IMO...the website gives guidelines on that.....All you need is a bandana and two ponytail holders for each mask...I found that the skinny, stretchy ponytail holders work the best...

Here's the link.... https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html .......It gives instructions for those who are able to sew a mask, too, and how to make a "quick-cut" mask out of a t-shirt.

I bought some fabric masks from my neighbor. I wear it at work and if I go to a store.  It is washable. We have disposable masks at my work, but I started wearing mine before everyone else and I am just used to it.

i don’t wear it when I walk the dog.  Some people do but we don’t approach anyone so I feel safe

I wear a mask when I’m indoors at stores because it’s considered pretty rude here not to wear one. I do not wear one when I’m out running or taking the dog for a walk because I stay away from people and give everyone a wide berth.

In my state it is as of this week required that shoppers and workers wear masks in stores. I've started to see more delivery drivers wear them. I think it is recommended that you wear them when you go outside your house (i.e. for exercise) but that is not required. We tend to wear them anyway.

I wear a mask everywhere. My state doesn’t require it, but...I guess it helps that I like the masks, although wearing a properly fitted N95 for any length of time hurts. I have one that a friend of mine who works in healthcare got that’s a size small and totally doesn’t fit her. I didn’t know they came in different sizes, having always gotten them from the hardware store for whatever grotesquely particle-producing project I was about to do.

On Tuesday I went to the pharmacy and none of them were wearing masks. Or gloves. What the actual fuck, people.

Wow, I went to a chain pharmacy. They had the whole area sealed off with plastic and a small opening to slide the medicine through. The credit card machine was on a table outside of the plastic wrap. He was wearing gloves and mask and I wore my mask.  They had markings six feet apart on the floor for if there was a line.

I found a very easy mask using an old T shirt, uses scissors to cut but no sewing or extra ties or elastics, plus can put a filter between layers. I found hair ties and elastic hard to find now.

I do feel funny wearing a mask but I shouldn’t. It’s necessary now I think. I’m making a variety of types to see which are most comfortable.

looooooooveeeeeeee it ! Beautiful masks. Why not!

It looks like if we can get the majority of people to wear masks we can get the r0 of this right down!

Look at the study below, 70%! That even means that as long as people who can wear them do, people with sensory issues or other genuine reasons for not wearing them won't have to. I really hope this turns out to be true, you know how scientific recommendations often change once they have more info, it would be wonderful if the solution was something so simple and easy for most people.

" if 70% of the general public wear masks and contact tracing is conducted at 60% efficiency within a 4-day time frame, epidemic growth will be flattened in the hardest hit countries. "https://arxiv.org/abs/2003.07353

Our mayor has made masks mandatory for everyone over two in all indoor public places. Good.

It's the only sensible thing.  Masks are compulsory countrywide here. No shop or mall will let you through their doors unless you're wearing one. (This is in addition to being doused with hand sanitiser by security guards at the entrance to anything public)

I wish they would do that here, especially since my state has partially reopened (Phase 1).......Right now. where I am, face masks are "strongly recommended" in public places, but it's not required......**SIGH**........The good thing is, some stores are now requiring masks to enter their businesses, and I hope more stores start doing it.
